After an Air India passenger plane suddenly fell and injured people in the air at the beginning of this month, the company carried out mandatory drug tests on its pilot. On August 17, local time, the Indian side quoted sources as saying that two more of the company's pilots failed the inspection and were suspected of “drug driving.” According to sources, Air India began drug tests on all 5,000 pilots of the company and Air India Express on the 13th. Nearly 400 people have completed the tests. Two of them have tested “not negative” and will be re-tested. Air India said the two pilots have been grounded due to safety concerns. The Civil Aviation Authority of India stipulates that if the pilot tests positive for the first time, they will be required to undergo drug rehabilitation and rehabilitation training, and can take up the job again after the test results are negative; if they test positive for the second time, the pilot involved will have their license revoked for three years; and if they test positive for the third time, their flight license will be revoked.
