As AI infrastructure spending drives corporate borrowing, the scale of US investment-grade bond issuance reached a record high in the same month of the previous year for the third month in a row, and the record rate of debt issuance continues. According to the data, as of Monday, the issuance of US investment-grade bonds reached US$145.2 billion in August, surpassing the record of US$136 billion set in August 2020 for the same month of the previous year. January, June, and July of this year also set records for the highest number in the same month of the year, respectively. In another three months, the distribution scale was the second highest in the same month of the previous year. The influx of large amounts of bonds into the market has made investors more picky about what to buy and at what price. This is reflected in the sharp rise in the percentage of initial subscription orders that were eventually withdrawn last week. However, the company did not stop there. On Monday, the issuer plans to issue a total of 9.1 billion US dollars in bonds. Of the 12 transactions on the same day, 2 came from private equity credit funds.
