According to US bankruptcy court documents, Google won the bid at a price of 10 million dollars, defeated artificial intelligence training data giant Mercor, and will obtain large amounts of data from the bankrupt company Spiritual Aviation. Google is expected to use this data to train its artificial intelligence models. Spirit Airlines will include more than 100 million emails, 500 million Microsoft Teams chat records, 30 million lines of code, development metadata, software models and algorithms, and revenue, aircraft operations, and employee productivity data, and be handed over to Google, but consumer data is not expected to be obtained by Google. Google said that before receiving the data, the third party will strictly erase all personally identifiable information, and Google will not re-identify users. The deal still requires approval from a federal judge, and if the deal fails, Mercor, the second-highest bidder, may have internal data from Spirit Aviation. Mercor's bid is $7.5 million.
