In response to Iran's recent claim that three Iranian pilots have been detained by Qatar, Qatari Foreign Ministry spokesman Majid Ansari once again denied it on the 18th and revealed more details of the Kazakh side's previous handling of related incidents and search and rescue work. Ansari said that the Iranian military aircraft in question “violated” Qatar's airspace at the time and tried to get in touch with the pilot after the Kazakh side confirmed its flight and attack trajectory, but there was no response. Afterwards, the Canadian side “took measures in accordance with the rules of engagement.” Ansari stressed that Qatari search and rescue personnel discovered the remains of a pilot on March 19, and the search and rescue operation ended on April 6. The Kazakh side later informed Iran of the situation. After receiving the remains, Iran transported them back to Iran and held a funeral for them.
