Shareholders of Sats ASA (OB:SATS) will be pleased this week, given that the stock price is up 13% to kr46.30 following its latest second-quarter results. Sats reported kr1.4b in revenue, roughly in line with analyst forecasts, although statutory earnings per share (EPS) of kr0.99 beat expectations, being 9.3% higher than what the analysts expected. The analysts typically update their forecasts at each earnings report, and we can judge from their estimates whether their view of the company has changed or if there are any new concerns to be aware of. So we collected the latest post-earnings statutory consensus estimates to see what could be in store for next year.
Taking into account the latest results, Sats' six analysts currently expect revenues in 2026 to be kr5.73b, approximately in line with the last 12 months. Per-share earnings are expected to increase 9.3% to kr2.95. In the lead-up to this report, the analysts had been modelling revenues of kr5.75b and earnings per share (EPS) of kr2.79 in 2026. The analysts seems to have become more bullish on the business, judging by their new earnings per share estimates.

The consensus price target rose 8.6% to kr50.33, suggesting that higher earnings estimates flow through to the stock's valuation as well. Fixating on a single price target can be unwise though, since the consensus target is effectively the average of analyst price targets. As a result, some investors like to look at the range of estimates to see if there are any diverging opinions on the company's valuation. The most optimistic Sats analyst has a price target of kr60.00 per share, while the most pessimistic values it at kr42.00. This shows there is still a bit of diversity in estimates, but analysts don't appear to be totally split on the stock as though it might be a success or failure situation.
Of course, another way to look at these forecasts is to place them into context against the industry itself. We would highlight that Sats' revenue growth is expected to slow, with the forecast 2.9% annualised growth rate until the end of 2026 being well below the historical 11% p.a. growth over the last five years. By way of comparison, the other companies in this industry with analyst coverage are forecast to grow their revenue at 6.6% per year. Factoring in the forecast slowdown in growth, it seems obvious that Sats is also expected to grow slower than other industry participants.
The biggest takeaway for us is the consensus earnings per share upgrade, which suggests a clear improvement in sentiment around Sats' earnings potential next year. Fortunately, the analysts also reconfirmed their revenue estimates, suggesting that it's tracking in line with expectations. Although our data does suggest that Sats' revenue is expected to perform worse than the wider industry. There was also a nice increase in the price target, with the analysts clearly feeling that the intrinsic value of the business is improving.
With that said, the long-term trajectory of the company's earnings is a lot more important than next year. We have forecasts for Sats going out to 2028, and you can see them free on our platform here.
