This marks the successful implementation of Shanghai Customs's first “sea-rail transit multimodal transport” customs supervision model. Unlike traditional sea-rail intermodal transport, the new model streamlines multiple declaration and segmented processing processes. Shanghai Customs uses digital intelligence supervision methods to establish a safe and intelligent lock-in-transit supervision system to open up data links at railway supervision stations, customs supervision platforms, and terminal operation platforms. According to reports, exporting companies only need to submit an application form for multimodal transport in one go to the customs office at the place of departure to complete the online declaration for the entire transit process, and complete customs clearance and inspection procedures in one stop to achieve “release upon departure.” There is no need to unpack the entire process, and there is no need to go through customs procedures repeatedly. “Zero delay, zero waiting”, and “one box to the end” is achieved.
