12:04 AM EDT, 08/20/2026 (MT Newswires) -- The Food Safety and Standards Authority of India, or FSSAI, collected liquor samples during its inspection of Pernod Ricard's (RI.PA) factory in the country last week, Reuters reported Wednesday, citing four unnamed sources. The French wines and spirits company confirmed the visit the same day, the report noted. Three of the unnamed sources said the two-day inspection involved the collection of samples for testing and some documentation. The fourth source, an unnamed Indian government official, said the food safety regulator advised Pernod Ricard India on plant hygiene and recycling symbols on its bottles. Pernod Ricard India and FSSAI did not immediately respond to requests for comments from MT Newswires. (Market Chatter news is derived from conversations with market professionals globally.
