A Cameroonian flag cargo ship, the “Lutuf”, was hijacked by pirates off the coast of Somalia. The location of the incident was about 6.5 km south of the town of Maraia. According to reports, the boat was loaded with weapons, communication equipment, and satellite equipment, and was originally destined for a Turkish military training center in Mogadishu, the capital of Somalia. At the time of the incident, there were 10 crew members on board, including 6 Indian citizens, 2 Serbian citizens, and 1 Turkish and Georgian citizen each.
