06:45 AM EDT, 08/21/2026 (MT Newswires) -- The UK Competition and Markets Authority's Subsidy Advice Unit, or SAU, accepted a request for a report providing advice to Invest Northern Ireland for its proposed subsidy award of 67 million pounds sterling to Ryanair (RYA.IR). The subsidy would support a large-scale maintenance, repair and overhaul facility for the budget airline's aircraft engines in Northern Ireland, according to a Friday notice. It would comprise a capital grant and an employment-related grant, and be paid in arrears against evidence of capital expenditure and job creation. The SAU's report will assess whether the compensation meets subsidy control requirements and is due to be completed within 30 working days.
