At Cathay Pacific's 80th anniversary celebration on August 21, Cathay Pacific Group CEO Lin Shaobo said in an interview that the next 10 years are expected to cover 150 global passenger destinations, and currently 103 destinations have been covered. Cathay Pacific has committed approximately HK$150 billion to invest in fleet, cabin products, lounges and digital innovation. Over the next 10 years, it is planned to receive 150 new aircraft, and orders for 100 have now been implemented. In terms of network development, Cathay Pacific and Hong Kong Express will further promote first-tier hub markets such as Beijing, Shanghai, Tokyo and Taipei. At the level of differentiated division of labor, Cathay Pacific will focus on destinations with outstanding business travel and cargo demand, while Hong Kong Express will focus on second- and third-tier cities or leisure travel destinations. Zheng Jiaju, director of Cathay Pacific Group in mainland China, mentioned that the Cathay Pacific Group currently has more than 4,000 mainland employees, including flight attendants, pilots, and engineers and technicians. Among them, there are IT offices in Guangzhou and Shenzhen, and there are already about 200 IT talents.
