Minister of Foreign Affairs of Japan: I had in-depth and thorough discussions with Saudi Arabian Foreign Minister Faisal and Omani Foreign Minister Badr. There are still many challenges surrounding the Iran issue. I had in-depth discussions with the Saudi minister on a range of issues, such as promoting the early resumption of negotiations between the US and Iran, creating a favorable environment for reaching a final agreement, and ensuring free and safe navigation in the Strait of Hormuz and the Mander Strait, and will further deepen future cooperation. The two sides also confirmed that they will strengthen cooperation in a wide range of fields, including stable supply of petroleum and liquefied natural gas. I also explained that Japan is willing to cooperate with the Gulf countries to enhance their economic and energy resilience. Japan has established friendly and trusting relationships with Middle Eastern countries for many years. Based on this, we will play a positive role in achieving peace and stability throughout the region.
