It provides for the strengthening of collective deterrence, and an armed attack against any party shall be regarded as a joint attack on all three countries. The document also allows for the expansion of military cooperation, coordination, and joint projects in the defense industry. After signing the agreement, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said that the agreement does not target any country and is open to other countries in the region committed to peace, stability and prosperity.
