Lundbeck's Obtains Orphan Designation in EU for Investigational Treatment for Cushing's Syndrome

Lundbeck (HLUN-A.CO) received orphan designation from the European Commission for asedebart as a potential treatment for Cushing's syndrome of endogenous origin. Asedebart is the Danish biopharmaceutical company's novel investigational monoclonal antibody against adrenocorticotropic hormone. It is under development for the treatment of Cushing's syndrome dependent on adrenocorticotropic hormone, with a proof-of-concept trial ongoing. The treatment already has orphan designation for congenital adrenal hyperplasia in the European Union, the US, and Japan, as well as orphan designation for Cushing's syndrome in Japan.
