From August 12 to 18, the Coastal Zone Science and Marine Development Strategy Research Center of the First Institute of Oceanography of the Ministry of Natural Resources, in collaboration with Thailand's Department of Ocean and Coastal Resources and Prince of Songkhla University of Thailand, successfully completed field research work in Phangnga Bay, Thailand, in the demonstration area of the project, further promoting the United Nations “Ocean Decade” project to “accelerate the implementation of marine spatial planning in the Western Pacific region”. The survey focused on topics such as the evolution of the ecological environment in the Bay Area, dynamic characteristics of the water environment, mangrove wetlands, ecological risk management and sustainable tourism development, etc., and the system obtained key data required for the preparation of marine spatial planning in Phang Nga Bay. Phang Nga Bay is a key area for marine ecological protection and marine tourism development in Thailand. It is also an important demonstration node for international cooperation in marine spatial planning in the Western Pacific region.
