On August 26, Assistant Minister of Commerce Zhang Li and Zimbabwean Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Trade Amon Murvela co-hosted the 11th meeting of the Sino-Tianjin Joint Economic and Trade Commission in Harare to have an in-depth exchange of views on topics such as bilateral economic and trade cooperation. Zhang Li said that under the strategic guidance of the two heads of state, bilateral economic and trade cooperation has achieved remarkable results. China will focus on promoting high-quality development, continue to expand a high level of openness to the outside world, and provide greater development opportunities for countries around the world, including Zimbabwe. China is ready to work with Tianjin to strengthen the interface between economic and trade policies, continue to tap bilateral trade potential, and deepen investment cooperation in the production and supply chain. We hope that the Tianjin side will speed up negotiations on an economic partnership agreement for joint development and provide more convenience and support for Chinese enterprises to invest and develop businesses in Tianjin. Murvila said that the Tianjin side attaches great importance to the economic and trade relations between Tianjin and China, appreciates the fruitful results achieved by both sides in the field of economy and trade, and is willing to strengthen communication and coordination with China to provide a favorable policy environment for Chinese enterprises to operate in Tianjin, and jointly promote the sustainable and healthy development of bilateral trade, investment and industrial cooperation. After the meeting, the two sides jointly signed the “Minutes of the 11th Meeting of the Joint Committee on Economic, Technical and Trade Cooperation between the Government of the People's Republic of China and the Government of the Republic of Zimbabwe”.
