11:21 PM EDT, 08/26/2026 (MT Newswires) -- (Updates with Euronext statement) The Nordic Compass industry alliance is said to be looking at options to attract more capital and boost initial public offerings in the Nordic region, including a proposal to consolidate the national bourses there into a single entity, Bloomberg News reported Wednesday. People familiar with the discussions told the news agency that the alliance is also exploring ways to harmonize regulatory frameworks across Sweden, Denmark, Norway and Finland. The alliance's partners include EQT (EQT.ST), Nordea Bank (NDA-FI.HE, NDA-DK.CO, NDA-SE.ST), Skandinaviska Enskilda Banken (SEB-A.ST) and the Novo Nordisk Foundation, Novo Nordisk's (NOVO-B.CO) top shareholder. Nasdaq and Euronext (ENX.PA) own the national stock exchanges in the four countries. In a statement to MT Newswires, Euronext said it "welcomes initiatives aimed at making the Nordic capital markets even more competitive globally," adding that it is in contact with the Nordic Compass on potentially contributing to practical measures aimed at boosting capital access for Nordic companies. Nasdaq did not immediately respond to a request for comment from MT Newswires. (Market Chatter news is derived from conversations with market professionals globally.
