On August 27, Morningstar released new global ETF data for the second quarter. In the second quarter, a total of 1,018 new ETFs were issued globally, of which 647 were actively managed, accounting for 63.6%. In terms of registration sites, the US is a stable global distribution center with 494 units, accounting for 48.5%; Ireland has 124, mostly UCITS product carriers set up by US distributors for the European market; 120 in mainland China, which set up a new quarterly distribution volume; South Korea and Canada have shown strong regional market vitality; the rest of the regions have a total of 119 new releases. Within the New Development Active ETF, the two major categories, stock type and trading instrument type, together accounted for about 75% of the share, making it the most prominent product line in the second quarter. Among active stock ETFs, the two types of option strategy products, US target income and US derivative earnings, are close to 80; in terms of trading instrument ETFs, 168 new single-share leveraged/reverse ETFs were issued, covering 149 individual stocks, of which 116 are multi-type and 19 are shorted, and 23 stocks are tracked by two or more ETFs. The internal targets on the racetrack are highly congruent, and competition is fierce.
