Iranian President Pezzahizyan said that the size of the Muslim country's economy is still small compared to its population and geo-strategic position, and therefore called for greater cooperation in the region. He pointed out that the 57 member countries of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation span from Southeast Asia to Africa and “are located in important maritime and land transportation routes, with energy resources, a young population structure, and a huge market.” Pezechizyan emphasized that the total economy of these countries in 2024 is about 9.2 trillion US dollars, accounting for only 8.3% of the total global economy. He also said that only 19% of the member countries' exports remained within the OIC organization, while the rest went to countries outside the OIC, and called for the expansion of trade between Muslim countries.
