On August 27, the construction of the entire pier of the Ganqimaodu to Gashusu Haitu Railway line of the second cross-border railway between China and Mongolia was completed, and construction was completely transferred to the superstructure of the girder and bridge deck, marking that the construction of this cross-border railway is over halfway. As the second cross-border railway built by China and Mongolia after a lapse of nearly 70 years, the line officially began construction in May 2025. The project departs from Ganqimaodu Port, passes through Gashusu Haitu Port in Mongolia, and connects to Gashusu Haitu Station in South Gobi Province of Mongolia. The total length of the route is 9.91 kilometers. Among them, the length of the cross-boundary bridge section is 6.08 kilometers. A total of 321 piers are built on the entire line, and 760 prefabricated T-beams need to be erected. Up to now, 701 T-beams have been prefabricated and 390 pieces have been erected. It is expected that all beam erection tasks will be completed in October this year, and it is planned to be completed and opened to traffic in 2027.
