Pleasing Signs As A Number Of Insiders Buy GreenFirst Forest Products Stock

Simply Wall St·08/28/2026 10:16:24
Listen to the news

Generally, when a single insider buys stock, it is usually not a big deal. However, when several insiders are buying, like in the case of GreenFirst Forest Products Inc. (TSE:GFP), it sends a favourable message to the company's shareholders.

Although we don't think shareholders should simply follow insider transactions, we do think it is perfectly logical to keep tabs on what insiders are doing.

GreenFirst Forest Products Insider Transactions Over The Last Year

Over the last year, we can see that the biggest insider purchase was by Independent Director Michael Mitchell for CA$77k worth of shares, at about CA$1.75 per share. That means that an insider was happy to buy shares at around the current price of CA$1.85. While their view may have changed since the purchase was made, this does at least suggest they have had confidence in the company's future. If someone buys shares at well below current prices, it's a good sign on balance, but keep in mind they may no longer see value. The good news for GreenFirst Forest Products share holders is that insiders were buying at near the current price.

In the last twelve months GreenFirst Forest Products insiders were buying shares, but not selling. The chart below shows insider transactions (by companies and individuals) over the last year.
