On July 31, AbbVie delivered a strong Q2 2026, with revenue rising 10.2% year over year to $16.99 billion and adjusted EPS jumping 22.9% to $3.65. However, investors focused on the near-term cost of AbbVie’s $10.9 billion Apogee Therapeutics acquisition, which is expected to dilute 2026 adjusted EPS by $0.14, partially offset by $0.10 of stronger-than-expected underlying performance. As a result, AbbVie lowered its full-year adjusted EPS outlook by $0.04 at the midpoint to $13.97, sending shares down 2.5%.
When stacked against its rival, Johnson & Johnson (JNJ) has surged 52.8% over the past year and 29.5% in 2026, outperforming ABBV.
Wall Street currently holds a moderately optimistic view of the stock. Among the 31 analysts tracking ABBV, the overall consensus stands at a “Strong Buy.” Its mean price target of $276.37 suggests 8.2% upside potential from current price levels.
