In the first seven months of 2026, China's software and information technology service industry (hereinafter referred to as the “software industry”) operated well. Software business revenue grew steadily, total profit increased steadily, and software business exports maintained positive growth.

I. Overall operation

In the first seven months, China's software business revenue was 8978.5 billion yuan, an increase of 9.2% over the previous year. The total profit of the software industry was 1039.6 billion yuan, an increase of 1.3% over the previous year. The software business exported US$40.61 billion, an increase of 12.2% over the previous year.

II. Operation by field

Revenue from software products is growing steadily. In the first 7 months, software product revenue increased 6.3% year on year, accounting for 21.6% of the industry's revenue. Among them, revenue from basic software products increased 9.4% year on year; revenue from industrial software products increased 8.4% year on year.

IT services revenue continued to grow in double digits. In the first seven months, IT service revenue increased 10.0% year on year, accounting for 68.7% of the industry's revenue. Among them, cloud computing and big data services achieved a total revenue increase of 12.3% year on year, accounting for 16.7% of IT service revenue; integrated circuit design revenue increased 21.5% year on year; and e-commerce platform technology service revenue increased 5.1% year on year.

Information security revenue and embedded systems software revenue are growing steadily. In the first seven months, revenue from information security products and services increased 6.2% year over year. Embedded systems software revenue increased 10.5% year over year.

III. Operation by region

In the first seven months, software business revenue in the eastern region, central region, western region, and northeast region increased by 9.0%, 14.6%, 9.1%, and 4.9%, respectively. The Eastern region accounts for 83.9% of the country's software business revenue. Software business revenue in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region increased 8.4% year on year, and software business revenue in the Yangtze River Delta region increased 10.2% year on year. The two regions accounted for 26.4% and 29.9% of the country's software business revenue respectively. Beijing, Guangdong, Jiangsu, Shanghai, and Shandong software business revenue ranked among the top 5 in the country, with year-on-year increases of 8.3%, 9.3%, 9.3%, 10.5%, and 7.0%, respectively.
