Pentagon Signs 7-Year Missile Production Deals With Lockheed, General Dynamics

The Pentagon signed seven-year framework agreements with General Dynamics ($GD) and Lockheed Martin ($LMT) aimed at expanding production and accelerating deliveries of components for THAAD and PAC-3 MSE missile interceptors.

• The agreements are designed to support multiyear procurement contracts with guaranteed minimum annual procurement quantities, subject to annual appropriations.
• General Dynamics Ordnance and Tactical Systems will expand production of interceptor components including motor cases, seeker housings, midsections and shroud deployment systems.
• The Pentagon is targeting a tripling of PAC-3 MSE interceptor production capacity and a quadrupling of THAAD interceptor production capacity.
• The seven-year framework is intended to support investments in workforce expansion, bulk materials and manufacturing facilities across General Dynamics and its suppliers.
• Lockheed Martin is the prime contractor for both the PAC-3 MSE interceptor and THAAD system.
