AcadeMedia stock went into this earnings print with a steady backdrop after an 8.2% rise over the past three months, yet today’s reaction hinges on one thing: the market is weighing a record Q4 against how much of that strength is already in the price.
The headline is clear. Net sales reached about SEK 5.7b in Q4 and adjusted earnings before interest, tax and amortisation hit SEK 552m with a 9.8% margin, all capped by a SEK 1.1b full year profit. The central question now is whether this level of profitability justifies re rating the stock.

Bulls argue AcadeMedia can grow profitably by lifting quality, shifting more revenue to international and Adult Education operations and keeping a tight balance sheet. Q4 student numbers rose 5.2% with organic growth of 10.2%, which supports the idea that parents and municipalities are choosing its schools. Preschool International is doing the heavy lifting. Children increased 8.1%, sales reached SEK 2.3b and adjusted EBITA climbed to SEK 216m with a 9.5% margin. Adult Education delivered 12 consecutive quarters of rolling 12 month profitability improvement with a 13.7% rolling margin. Group adjusted EBITA margin for FY2026 landed at 7.4%, within the 7 to 8% target, while leverage stayed low at 0.9x adjusted EBITDA. These are the kind of milestones bulls wanted to see on growth, mix and balance sheet discipline.
Bears worry that Swedish regulation, demographic pressures and aggressive international expansion could squeeze returns. Management now describes FY2027 as more of a consolidation year for international operations and does not expect the same margin uplift as FY2026. That tempers the idea of a smooth uptrend. Free cash flow in Q4 fell to SEK 354m from SEK 532m as acquisition payments and Norwegian timing effects kicked in, which shows how M&A and expansion can pull on cash even when earnings look strong. Leverage has moved up from 0.5x to 0.9x adjusted EBITDA, still modest but clearly higher. Management also flags increased administrative burden from Swedish regulatory changes, with only limited financial impact so far. The print does not confirm regulatory damage, but it does confirm that complexity and integration work are rising in the background.
