12:37 AM EDT, 09/01/2026 (MT Newswires) -- La Française de l'Energie (FDE.PA) said Monday it commissioned two new 1.5-megawatt green electricity production units at its Rouvignies site in the Hauts-de-France region. The units use abandoned mine methane and are covered by a 15-year power purchase agreement with EDF at 80 euros per megawatt-hour, indexed to inflation. The start-up brings the low-carbon energy producer's fleet to 19 engines, reflecting a 27% increase in production capacity since June. The company also secured 16 additional engines to be deployed over the next three years. Once fully operational, the program is expected to generate 18 million euros in additional annual revenue.
