The latest statistics released by the General Administration of Customs today show that in the first seven months of this year, China's imports and exports to Egypt amounted to 95.19 billion yuan, an increase of 18.7% over the previous year. Among them, China's imports of agricultural products from Egypt increased by 82.6% year on year, accounting for 41.7% of the total value of China's imports from Egypt during the same period. Egypt is already China's largest source of frozen strawberry imports and the third largest source of linen imports. In the first seven months, China exported 51.53 billion yuan of mechanical and electrical products to Egypt, an increase of 23.9% over the previous year, accounting for 56.9% of the total value of China's exports to Egypt during the same period. China and Egypt complement each other's resources and rely on the joint construction of “Belt and Road” cooperation to achieve mutual benefit and win-win situation in both directions.
