The Zhitong Finance App learned that Shandong Gold (01787) once fell more than 8% in early trading and rose nearly 4% in the afternoon. As of press release, it rose 3.97% to HK$26.74, with a turnover of HK$1,294 billion.

According to the news, Shandong Gold's interim results showed that in the second quarter, it achieved operating income of 21,072 billion yuan, down 31.65% year on year and 35.20% month on month; net profit to mother was 2,097 billion yuan, up 17.71% year on year and 45.09% month on month. Excluding the impact related to the sale of Donghai Securities shares, the estimated net profit for the second quarter was about 2,626 billion yuan, up 47.39% year on year and 81.68% month on month.

Debon Securities pointed out that in the first half of the year, the company produced 6.69 tons of gold from overseas mines, an increase of 18.03% over the previous year. The Namutini gold mine process was optimized, and production increased by more than 50%, effectively hedging the reduction in domestic safety inspections. Furthermore, in an environment where international gold prices surged and fell higher at the beginning of the year and the average price in Q2 was lower than the average price in Q1, the company's profit in the second quarter rose markedly from 1,446 billion yuan in the first quarter, demonstrating profit resilience.
