The latest outbreak report released by the Congolese government on September 2 shows that as of August 31, the cumulative number of confirmed cases of the current Ebola outbreak in the country had risen to 6,186, including 3007 deaths. There are 26 provinces across the Congo. Currently, the outbreak has affected 60 health districts in the 6 provinces of Ituri, North Kivu, South Kivu, Haut-Uélé, Bas-Uélé and Tshopo. Furthermore, 1,409 patients have recovered.
