Blackstone Group is making an early bet on cybersecurity startup Huskeys. The company built an AI gateway protection system to help enterprises deal with various risks brought about by the increasing spread of automated network traffic. Blackstone's early-stage venture capital arm, Blackstone Innovation Investment, led a Series A round of financing of 27 million US dollars. The company, which was only a year old, was valued at over $100 million after investment. According to Huskeys representatives, after the transaction was completed, Blackstone became the company's second-largest external investor, after the Israeli venture capital agency 10D. To date, the startup has received a total of $35 million in financing. Other investors in this round include the investment division of Zscaler, a listed cybersecurity company, and Bright Pixel Capital, a venture capital platform of Portuguese retailer Sonae.
