Studsvik Engages GE Vernova Hitachi Nuclear Energy, Samsung C&T for Planned Swedish Nuclear Project

02:34 AM EDT, 09/03/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Studsvik (SVIK.ST) said Thursday that GE Vernova Hitachi Nuclear Energy and Samsung C&T joined as strategic partners for its planned 1.2-gigawatt nuclear energy project in Sweden. Under the exclusive agreement, the partners will consider developing the project at either the nuclear services company's existing licensed nuclear site in Nyköping or at the Målma site in Valdemarsvik. Other partners include GE Vernova Financial Services and DS Investment Partners. DS Investment will lead the investment, while GE Vernova Financial Services will act in an advisory and financial structuring capacity. Studsvik clarified that the agreement does not constitute a final investment decision or authorization to construct. The partners plan to commence joint development work immediately, including commercial, technical, regulatory and financing activities during the exclusivity period.
