Hong Kong stock opening | Hang Seng Index opened 1.2% higher, gold stocks strengthened, and Zijin Mining (02899) rose more than 4%

The Zhitong Finance App learned that on September 4, the Hang Seng Index rose 1.2% to 25,515.74 points; the Hang Seng Technology Index rose 1.46% to 4,533.82 points; and the State-owned Enterprises Index rose 1.15% to 8,481.28 points. Pre-market transactions amounted to approximately HK$3.344 billion.

Gold stocks strengthened sharply. Zijin Mining (02899) rose more than 4%, Chifeng Gold (06693) rose more than 3%, Lingbao Gold (03330) rose nearly 3%, and Shandong Gold (01787), Laosou Gold (06181), and Zhaojin Mining (01818) rose more than 2%.

Technology Network stocks generally rose, with JD Group-SW (09618), Baidu Group-SW (09888), and Tencent Holdings (00700) rising more than 2%, Alibaba-W (09988) up nearly 2%, Meituan-W (03690) and Kuaishou-W (01024) rising more than 1%, and Xiaomi Group-W (01810) and NetEase (09999).

Semiconductor stocks rose; Huahong Semiconductor (01347) rose 2%, and SMIC (00981) rose more than 1%. In terms of auto stocks, Ideal Automobile-W (02015) and Xiaopeng Group-W (09868) rose nearly 2%, and NIO SW (09866) rose nearly 1%.

According to the news, Federal Reserve Governor Waller sent a dovish signal. Market expectations for the Fed's interest rate hike in September have clearly cooled down. The three major US stock indices collectively closed up overnight. The Dow rose 1.18%, the S&P 500 index rose 1.06%, and the NASDAQ rose 1.40%; spot gold once reached the 4,500 US dollars/ounce mark overnight. Driven by this, Hong Kong stocks collectively opened higher today.
