01:31 AM EDT, 09/04/2026 (MT Newswires) -- BofA Global Research affirmed its investment case for SSE plc (SSE.L), noting the British energy company's recent electricity transmission investor event in Aberdeenshire, Scotland. "Three messages stood out: 1) execution capability; 2) significant grid investment will continue beyond RIIO-T3; 3) confidence in delivering >9% [return on equity]. In our view, SSE successfully demonstrated the depth and quality of SSEN Transmission's management team and that execution risks on these complex large-scale projects are being tightly managed, with site visits to [Eastern Green Link 2] and Netherton Hub providing early-stage evidence of this," according to a Thursday note. "Overall, we maintain conviction that consensus underestimates the Transmission earnings inflection; we stay 5-7% above the Street on FY27-30E EPS. SSE remains very attractively valued at 12.3x FY27 P/E with c10% EPS [compound annual growth rate] to FY30E. We maintain Buy and our 2,660p [price objective]," analysts added. The research firm added that the National Electricity System Operator's Beyond 2030 report unlocks 17 billion pounds sterling of potential total expenditure for SSE across seven key transmission projects, with future load and connections expenditure offering additional upside.
