On September 4, with the opening of the last rock wall at the entrance of the Jintang Undersea Tunnel of the Yongzhou Railway, all land sections of the world's longest undersea high-speed rail tunnel were completed. The Jintang Undersea Tunnel is a controlled project for the entire Yongzhou Railway line. It runs from Beilun, Ningbo in the west to Jintang in Zhoushan in the east. It is a single-hole, double-track tunnel with a design speed of 250 kilometers per hour, setting the record for the longest undersea high-speed rail tunnel in the world. The tunnel is divided into two major sections: the land section and the sea section. The total length of the land section is 7.83 kilometers.
