The Zhizhitong Finance App learned that on September 2, Deshit-B (02526) and the Hong Kong Polytechnic University officially inaugurated the “PolyU - Desch Technology Joint Laboratory for General Artificial Intelligence and Medical Applications”. The two sides will carry out long-term research on medical imaging analysis, medical basic model construction, and automation of medical R&D processes to promote the transformation of AI for Science in the medical field between industry, education, research and development, and promote research results to the Mainland, Hong Kong and the global innovation network.
According to SoftTech's GRAS 2025 AI Independent Subject List, the Hong Kong Polytechnic University ranked 16th in the world and 1st in Hong Kong. This time, top universities chose to work closely with Deshi, which is also the market's high recognition of the scarcity of Deshi medical imaging large model technology. The laboratory will integrate the original innovation capabilities in artificial intelligence and data science, superimpose Desi's industrial implementation capabilities, open up a complete chain from basic research and technology development to clinical application, and promote interdisciplinary talent training to accelerate the transition of cutting-edge technology to real medical scenarios.
Artificial intelligence is moving further from an auxiliary tool to the scientific research and knowledge discovery process itself, and medical AI is also entering a new stage of development. Dr. Song Ning, chairman of the board of directors and CEO of Desch, said that AI for Science is reshaping the global healthcare AI industry. The company has completed a key technological transition from “single disease, single model” to “unified base, industrial batch training”. We look forward to relying on joint laboratories to transform real-world clinical medical topics into systematic research results, and push the medical AI industry from large-scale model development to a new stage of AI-driven scientific research.
At present, Deshi has built a complete technical system and has iMediimage®, a large model for medical imaging AI base, iMedStudio™, an intelligent image labeling platform, and a dedicated model training and publishing platform for iMedMaaS®. As of the first half of 2026, the company has cooperated with 99 hospitals and implemented 158 vertical specialist AI models, covering 43 human organs and 61 disease directions, fully verifying the viability of base reuse and mass production models.
As large model technology continues to be iterated, medical AI is expanding beyond single-point auxiliary diagnosis to multiple scenarios for image analysis, medical research, and clinical decision-making. The launch of the joint laboratory further strengthens the scientific research chassis of the Deshi AI4S model factory, taking into account commercial expansion and next-generation technology reserves. Approaching the official entry into force of the Hong Kong Stock Connect on September 7, the company's dual layout of industry, education, research and capital continues to increase due to the subsequent inclusion of index expectations such as Hang Seng Biotechnology and Hang Seng Hong Kong Stock Connect artificial intelligence themes.
