The Zhitong Finance App learned that the Bank of Korea released a report on Friday saying that as Samsung Electronics and SK Hynix actively expand local facilities, South Korea's leading edge in memory chip production capacity is expected to expand further. The report shows that by 2028, the commissioning of a new chip factory is expected to increase South Korea's wafer production capacity by about 600,000 wafers per month. Over the same period, China's leading memory chip manufacturer Changxin Storage may increase its monthly wafer production capacity from the current 300,000 to 600,000 wafers.
