Whilst it may not be a huge deal, we thought it was good to see that the Grove Collaborative Holdings, Inc. (NYSE:GROV) CEO, President & Director, Jeff Yurcisin, recently bought US$95k worth of stock, for US$1.05 per share. That purchase might not be huge but it did increase their holding by 12%.
Notably, that recent purchase by Jeff Yurcisin is the biggest insider purchase of Grove Collaborative Holdings shares that we've seen in the last year. So it's clear an insider wanted to buy, even at a higher price than the current share price (being US$1.05). Their view may have changed since then, but at least it shows they felt optimistic at the time. To us, it's very important to consider the price insiders pay for shares. It is generally more encouraging if they paid above the current price, as it suggests they saw value, even at higher levels.

We do note, however, it is possible insiders have an indirect interest through a private company or other corporate structure. It's certainly positive to see the recent insider purchases. We also take confidence from the longer term picture of insider transactions. But we don't feel the same about the fact the company is making losses.
