The National Environment Agency of Singapore said on the 4th that as of 7:00 a.m. on the same day, the 24-hour air pollution index in central Singapore had reached 101, entering an “unhealthy” range. This is the first time since October 2023 that the index has broken through 100 due to smog. Affected by the El Niño phenomenon, wildfires have recently broken out in parts of Kalimantan and Sumatra in Indonesia, causing large amounts of smoke and haze to neighboring countries Malaysia and Singapore.
