Cotton Trading with Modestly Mixed Friday Action

Cotton futures are trading with contracts holding mostly steady within 10 points of unchanged, as October is down 73 points.  Crude oil is down 38 cents per barrel higher on the day, with the US dollar index down $0.190. The market will be closed on Monday for Labor Day.

Export Sales has the total export business for 2026/27 upland cotton at 4.36 million RB, which is already up 19% from the same week last year. That is 38% of the USDA export projection and lags the 45% 5-year average. 

The Cotlook A index was down 250 points on Thursday at 98.25. ICE certified cotton stocks were unchanged on September 3, with the certified stocks level at 63,092 bales. The Adjusted World Price was raised by another 240 points on Thursday to 73.92 cents/lb.

Dec 26 Cotton  is at 86.49, up 4 points,

Mar 27 Cotton  is at 88.76, down 4 points
