The Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement issued a statement on the 5th saying that the contents of a recent “Peace Commission” report on the situation in the Gaza Strip “did not match the facts.” Hamas called on the Commission to maintain an objective balance. Hamas spokesman Hazem Qasim said in a statement that the “Peace Committee”'s report on social media was “not favorable to the Palestinian people and their resistance” and failed to provide a balanced and comprehensive statement on the current situation. Qasim called on the “Peace Committee” to avoid adopting “Israeli narratives” and not publish content that harms the interests of all parties in Palestine. He stressed that about 2 million residents in the Gaza Strip are still facing repeated violations of the cease-fire agreement, continued attacks on civilians, and an extremely serious humanitarian situation. The “Peace Commission” initiated by the United States released a report on the 4th stating that “Hamas has accepted the Commission's request,” and that Gaza should become a model for Palestinian autonomy in the next ten years, convincing Israel and other parties that the core pursuit of Palestine is freedom and prosperity rather than the destruction of Israel.
