According to the Ministry of Science and Technology, from September 2 to 4, 2026, at the invitation of Mexican Minister of Science, Humanities, Technology and Innovation Ruiz, Minister of Science and Technology Yin Hejun led a delegation to Mexico and co-hosted the 9th meeting of the Science and Technology Sub-Committee of the Standing Committee of the Sino-Mexican Intergovernmental Standing Committee in Mexico City. At the meeting, the two sides reviewed the results achieved since the 8th meeting of the Science and Technology Sub-Committee, exchanged strategies and policies for science and technology development between the two countries, discussed the next priority areas of Sino-Mexican cooperation in science and technology innovation, and reached consensus. After the meeting, the two sides signed the “Memorandum of Understanding between the Ministry of Science and Technology of the People's Republic of China and the Ministry of Science, Humanities, Technology and Innovation of the United Mexican States on scientific and technological innovation cooperation” and the minutes of the Science and Technology Sub-Committee meeting.
