On September 3, the Sichuan Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism conducted on-site enforcement interviews with the 52 travel agencies with the highest number of travel complaints handed over by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism. It clearly required that all the travel agencies interviewed must submit self-inspection reports and rectification plans within a week, establish problem accounts, and put all the rectification in place by the end of September. According to the on-site interview report, judging from the operation of the provincial tourism market and complaint monitoring from January to August this year, complaints mainly focused on refund disputes caused by changes in tourists' travel plans, unauthorized changes in itineraries or group transfers, false publicity and misleading consumption, poor service attitudes of tour guides, and shopping disputes. Similar “persistent problems” occurred repeatedly, damaging the image of the cultural tourism market in Sichuan. Representatives of three travel agencies with many complaints, including Chengdu Ctrip International Travel Service, made review statements and clearly stated the next rectification plan.
