After months of war, the global oil market is once again showing signs of tension. War-tested traders, anxious buyers, and stressed executives are gathering in Singapore to attend the most important industry event in the Asia-Pacific region. As oil inventories continue to decline, winter approaches in the northern hemisphere, and concerns about inflation heat up, these issues and more challenges will be the focus of discussions at the S&P Global Energy Asia Pacific Petroleum Conference, which opens this Tuesday and continues throughout the week. “The discussions will unquestionably revolve around insufficient inventory buffers, the 'unresolved' diesel market, the Strait of Hormuz transportation issues, and the Middle East and Russia-Ukraine conflict,” said Amrita Sen, founder and director of Energy Aspects Ltd. She is also a senior energy analyst who will attend APPEC this year.
