The Zhitong Finance App learned that according to TrendForce Jibang Consulting's latest memory industry research, in the second quarter of 2026, due to a significant rise in conventional DRAM (general DRAM) contract prices, the overall DRAM industry's revenue increased by 59.5% quarterly to nearly US$154.73 billion.

As LLM model training and AI inference stimulate AI server demand, HBM3e, LPDDR5X, and high-capacity RDIMM shipments grew simultaneously, while Agentic AI applications drove RDIMM shipments of various capacity specifications. On the supply side, the original factory inventory was at its bottom, and new supply was prioritized to meet server applications. Overall DRAM bit shipments grew slightly in the second quarter.

Looking at the important factors affecting revenue in the third quarter, bit-element shipments will continue to increase in a small amount in a single quarter. Prices are expected to reduce the quarterly increase in conventional DRAM prices to 13-18% due to demand for some high-capacity RDIMMs shifting to medium- and low-capacity products. In addition, PC and smartphone customers have limited ability to withstand price increases, it is estimated that the quarterly increase in Conventional DRAM prices will shrink to 13-18%, with the biggest increase in consumer DRAM supply from the original factory.

TrendForce Jibang Consulting said that Samsung (Samsung) ranked first with a market share of 39.4% with a market share of 39.4% due to the pioneering introduction of HBM4 mass production and shipment volume in the second quarter, with a sharp increase in average unit sales price (ASP), with quarterly revenue reaching US$60.98 billion and quarterly growth of 63.4%.

SK hynix (SK Hynix) is in second place in revenue. Since its HBM accounts for the highest share of the company's overall shipments among the three original manufacturers, ASP growth was limited. The second-quarter revenue quarter increased 37.9% to US$38.59 billion, while its market share declined slightly to 24.9%.

Under limited production capacity, Micron (MU.US)'s product portfolio continued to lean towards high-cost server DRAM. The second-quarter revenue quarter increased 65.5% to 36 billion US dollars, and its market share also grew slightly to 23.3%. TrendForce Jibang Consulting pointed out that from 2026 to 2027, the three original manufacturers mainly increased bit supply through accelerated upgrading of advanced processes, while the expansion of the launch scale was achieved by optimizing production processes, acquiring clean rooms, and mobilizing clean room space from other product lines to achieve minor improvements.

Relatively speaking, manufacturers such as Nanya (South Asia Technology), Winbond (Huabang Electronics), and PSMC (PSMC) focused on mature process products, and the second quarter's kinetic energy continued to be supported by demand that could not be met by the top three manufacturers after switching processes. Nanya's DDR4 and DDR3 contract prices increased significantly, and overall quarterly revenue increased 68.3% to US$2,612 million. Winbond's revenue increased 75.8% quarterly to $998 million.

PSMC's revenue calculation is mainly based on consumer DRAM products produced by it. It reached 115 million US dollars in the second quarter, with a quarterly increase of 167.8%. If OEM revenue is added, the quarterly increase was 54%. It is expected that it will actively launch the next wave of supply expansion after obtaining Micron's process technology license.
