EverBank Finance and WAFD reached a merger agreement worth 3.9 billion US dollars, which will integrate large-scale digital consumer banking services with banks with physical outlets in the western United States. According to a statement issued on Monday, EverBank will be merged into WAFD. After the merger was completed, WAFD maintained its listed status and changed its name to EverBank. EverBank's current CEO Greg Sibley will be CEO of the new company after the merger; WAFD CEO Brent Bildaol will serve as president of the merged agency. According to the statement, EverBank investors, including TIAA and funds managed by Stone Point Capital, Huaping Investment, Reverence Capital Partners, Sixth Street, and Bayview Asset Management, hold a total of about 59.2% of the new company's shares; the original WAFD shareholders held about 40.8% of the shares.
