The Zhitong Finance App learned that on September 8, Hong Kong Stock Exchange (00388) CEO Chen Yiting said in a speech at the China Opportunity Forum that the Hong Kong IPO market continued to be strong this year. By the end of August, 104 companies had been listed in Hong Kong, and the amount raised had exceeded HK$340 billion, surpassing the total amount for the full year of last year.

She pointed out that issuers from Southeast Asia and the Middle East have successively chosen Hong Kong as their listing location. Among the top 5 IPOs listed in the world this year, 3 have settled in Hong Kong stocks, connecting with international capital through Hong Kong's financing platforms, further supporting the company's global business expansion.

Chen Yiting mentioned that the proportion of international cornerstone investors participating in Hong Kong IPOs has reached a high level in recent years. In addition to traditional Asian investors, long-term funds from the Middle East, Europe, North America and Asia Pacific have also continued to increase. This not only reflects international investors' recognition of the long-term value of innovative Chinese enterprises and Chinese assets, but also shows that Hong Kong continues to exert its unique value as an important platform connecting China's opportunities with global capital.

Regarding the performance of Hong Kong's secondary market this year, she pointed out that the market showed strong vitality. The average daily turnover in the first eight months of this year exceeded HK$280 billion, an increase of 14% over the previous year, and remained at a historically high level.

Chen Yiting believes that China's economy is undergoing profound transformation, and China's opportunities are constantly evolving. As an international financial center, one of Hong Kong's greatest advantages is that it can effectively connect Chinese opportunities with global capital. In the future, the Hong Kong Stock Exchange will continue to invest in market infrastructure construction to provide investors with a more efficient, stable, and resilient market environment.
