According to the General Administration of Customs, according to customs statistics, in the first eight months of 2026, China's total import and export value of goods trade was RMB 34.78 trillion, an increase of 17.6% over the previous year. Looking at key commodities, in the first eight months, China exported 12.91 trillion yuan of mechanical and electrical products, an increase of 21.9%; 2.74 trillion yuan of labor products, a decrease of 0.6%; and 492.03 billion yuan of agricultural products, an increase of 4.2%. In terms of imports, in the first eight months, China imported 6.21 trillion yuan of mechanical and electrical products, an increase of 31.6%; 321 million tons of crude oil, a decrease of 14.6%; and 1.04 trillion yuan of agricultural products, an increase of 6.6%.
