Poste Italiane Raises Telecom Italia Bid to EUR11.35 Billion

11:46 PM EDT, 09/07/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Poste Italiane (PST.MI) raised its takeover offer for telecommunications operator Telecom Italia (TIT.MI) to 11.35 billion euros and waived the threshold condition for the deal. The Italian postal services company on Monday offered to pay 1.97 euros per TIM share, up from the previous offer of 1.67 euros apiece, according to a same-day release. It also offered a 0.218 newly issued Poste ordinary share for every TIM share tendered. The company will offer a maximum aggregate cash component of 3.36 billion euros. Poste also waived the condition requiring it to secure at least 66.67% of TIM's outstanding shares. The offer period is due to expire on Friday.
