03:40 AM EDT, 09/08/2026 (MT Newswires) -- UniCredit (UCG.MI) said Tuesday that the European Central Bank approved its request to use the Danish Compromise methodology for calculating its consolidated capital ratios. Starting from the third quarter, the Italian lender can treat insurance holdings through risk weighting rather than deducting from regulatory capital. The bank estimates the approval will enhance its capital position by 52 basis points to the CET1 ratio.
