On the 8th, the 2025 trade index between China and BRICS member countries compiled by the General Administration of Customs was released at the 26th China International Investment and Trade Fair. The index is based on 2009, when BRICS leaders first met. It rose to 334.14 in 2025, up 32.64 from 2024, and achieved 10 consecutive years of upward growth. The trade index between China and other BRICS members consists of four indicators: trade scale, trade structure, trade innovation, and trade potential. In 2025, the values of these indicators reached 295.31, 188.15, 396.24, and 456.88, respectively. Data show that in 2025, the number of enterprises with import and export records from China and other BRICS member countries surpassed 300,000 for the first time, an increase of 8.8% over the previous year; imports and exports amounted to 7.47 trillion yuan, an increase of 3.4% over the previous year, accounting for 16.4% of China's total foreign trade value in that year.
