Goldman Sachs economists say they have advanced the Bank of Australia's rate hike forecast from November to September after the Bank of Australia's Deputy Governor Andrew Hauser and Chief Economist Sarah Hunter made speeches that were considered “slightly eagles.” Prior to Tuesday's speech, Goldman Sachs thought the probability of raising interest rates in September was 45%, but at the time, the bank still preferred the central bank's November action. Goldman Sachs said that with the latest round of hawkish statements, and the bank's commodities team's forecast of raising oil prices, September is the most likely time to raise interest rates.
